Get Diverted defied all the odds in July and produced another quality night in spite of the annoying summer weather, the even more annoying smoking ban and the absolutely ridiculous closure of the Victoria line at the weekend. So a huge huge thank-you to our loyal Get Diverted crowd and I hope we rewarded you with a fantastic clubbing experience.
So what does August have in store for the Crypt? Well as the London Metro correctly stated, we celebrate house music for all it's diversity. We like to span all styles of quality house music and not just be known as another "electro house" night, so Augusts' party will see our house music laced with some Jackin' flava's with Toolroom Records Mark Storie headlining.
Mark Storie (in case you didn't know) is one third of DJ outfit the Ninja Cowboys and has rapidly became one of house music's hottest producers. His first solo release, the suitably titled "Class A" is one of this years most downloaded house tunes and has been smashing the Get Diverted dance floor for some time. His latest fine piece of work is his remix of The Factory (Pete Tong,Paul Harris,Jay P) “Couldn’t Love You More” and is receiving rave reviews across clubland. But most importantly Mark is a truly talented DJ, his electro-tech house sets are packed with sinister drumbeats and perfect bridges between tracks and we are sure he is going to take the roof off Babalou.
Alongside Mark we have a man who is very well accustomed to shaking South London’s dance floors, Moochin’s head honcho Lee Jarvis. Moochin is one of London’s most respected house nights and this is due in no small part to Lee’s DJ’ing ability. Quality jackin’ house will be at the core of Lee’s set, fusing bumping Chicago grooves to with quirky techy beats with odd eclectic tune thrown in for good measure - he is the only DJ we’ve heard drop a Wham record and make it sound good
Making this all star London line up complete is Illicit Audio’s co star ... Lofty. We were blown after by Lofty’s style when playing alongside him at Formula Clapham, playing quality tech house but always with an ability to surprise. Lofty has played at most major London clubs including Egg, The Cross and Pacha and is tried and tested at Babalou previously rocked Deeper back in March.
So come join the hard partying Get Diverted crowd for another cracking house party
