First 100 invites just £5 http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user/?region=gb_london&query=detail&event=492418 - they won't last long!
For this one they will be running both floors at the venue and the line up is bigger than anything they've done so far, with roots in the basement, with Ska, rocksteady and revival in the lounge on the ground floor.
Heading up the guests in the basement are Mikey Dread & Ras Kayleb of London's mighty Channel One, who are always a firm favourite at Rootikal. We'll also have Gussie P, producer and owner of Sip A Cup Records, one of the UKs foremost labels for great contemporary roots music, who will be joined by Errol Bellot and Matic Horns, both of whom recently released mini LPs on Sip A Cup. This means we'll have Errol on the mic and Henry Matic Horns live on the trombone, and anyone that saw the the four way clash at Camden's Roundhouse or the show at Subdub last year will know what it means to add live trombone into the set!
In the revival lounge will be the immaculately turned out Gaz Mayal, of Gaz's Rockin Blues, who's been running his club for over thirty years now. If you've seen them at Carnival, you'll know that it's quite literally roadblock all around his set - and for good reason. Up before Gaz will be SKa LAvin's Tiny T, Asher G and Oxman - all serious aficionados of the best in rocksteady and Ska. And up before them, will be Dean Thatcher and Steve Saunders of London's long running suedehead night, Set the Tone.
Rootikal residents David Hill, Stuart Patterson and Mr Faso will be joined by regular guest selector Miss Sweetie in the basement.
To ease gently into this extra long session we will be screening a classic reggae feature film upstairs at 6pm.
And in keeping with the all-dayer nature of the dance, great authentic Caribbean food will be served plus stalls selling records and clothing. They'll even have a small run of special Rootikal T-shirts that will be available on the day.
Admission is £8 before 9.00pm, £10 thereafter. Limited £7 advance tickets from ticketweb.co.uk, East Village EC2, Dub Vendor W1 and Honest Jons W10
