Benefit party for the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal
*Maori for gift, present, offering, donation or contribution
It’s been three months since the Christchurch earthquake on 22 February that killed 181 people, injured around 2,500 and left approximately 2,000 displaced, yet large parts of the city are still in chaos. Many in the city are suffering from post-traumatic stress, there is widespread damage to buildings — especially in the central city and eastern suburbs — and liquification has produced 200,000 tonnes of silt. Regular aftershocks are only making matters worse.
With the media calling it the most expensive natural disaster in New Zealand history it’s easy to feel helpless, but in fact every penny counts. Please help by coming and supporting Koha on Sunday 5 June at Raving Buddha.
A delectable selection of DJs are donating their time from the realms of tech house, progressive, tribal and trance. Plus there’s going to be CD giveaways throughout the afternoon in addition to the Raving Buddha’s usual pool and pizza.
