Vicious Circle Album Tour
Reported by Jon Rundell

Vicious Circle was established in October 2000 and the first release was an instant hit, Paul’s “Kick It” still sells through now and featured rave reviews in every major dance publication as well as on compilation albums all over the world, thanks to an overwhelming amount of support from all the key major players in the scene. Coupled with the rise to fame of Paul’s now legendary residency at Insomniacz, this set the standard for the label. After the first two releases the label had gained instant icon status and there was a massive buzz in the media, the industry, the clubs and of course amongst the clubbers. The uncompromising, raw, tough energy had been missing during this period of dominating off beat bass lines, hoover patterns and sirens.
The progress of the label continued and “Beautiful” was born. Another instant anthem from the man himself that was one of the biggest club records in 2001. Every club you went to you heard this record, everybody was playing it and everybody wanted it, sales hit the roof and it got signed to compilations all over the world. It was also at this time that Paul provided the magic touch to a certain Miss Shiva record, “Dreams”, it hit international status and confirmed what that underground already knew, Paul Glazby was the man for 2002.
For the last 2 years Vicious Circle has grown into one of the leaders at the harder end of the dance spectrum, with each solid release building on the last. The label has grown in stature and has gained an enviable reputation from both peers and customers from across the globe for their uncompromising approach to their music as they continue to strive for quality and innovation which sets them apart from others in the field.
The time has now come to unleash their first offering on the album front – ‘One From The Hardbox’, and in true Vicious Circle style this is an album that says “we won’t bow down to the need for commercial anthems to sell 20,000 copies”, this is an album from the underground, for the underground and one that is a true reflection of the club scene.
‘One From The Hardbox’ is a reflection of the first 2 ½ years of Vicious Circle containing previously released material, forthcoming tracks, tracks licensed in from other labels within the scene and two tracks that will only ever be available on this album - Paul Janes remix of the Vicious Circle classic ‘Kick It’ and Paul Glazby’s as yet untitled at the time of going to press.
‘One From The Hardbox’ is probably the most talked about and eagerly awaited hard dance albums to be released this year from a label that has achieved icon status and with one of the best track listings I have ever seen on album this is a must for every hard house fan. Make sure you get yourself down to the first tour date at XStatic this Saturday and help them celebrate in true underground style.
