Union hosts a variety of nights ranging from cheesy gay house and electro to banging hard house and driving psytrance. There are also Saturday and Sunday morning parties. Check the website for full details and a calendar of events.
The venue is currently undergoing yet more refurbishment and the dominant black colour scheme is slowly being replaced with a variety of pastel shades, some more pleasing to the eye than others.
Union is available for hire - check the website for contact details.
Capacity: 600 or so depending on how many nooks and crannies they get lost in.
Sound system: EAW Avalon with lots of speakers and amps and things. Quite loud but that's probably how you want it in a club.
Lighting: There are some nice swirly whirly ones and some that flash and some that change colour. Oh, and a couple of lasers which also change colour and stuff. And projectors and screens. And a couple of UV lights. There are quite a few others lying around in cupboards but they're not plugged in so don't count.
Website: www.clubunion.co.uk
Directions: From Vauxhall train, bus and underground stations walk east along Albert Embankment with the railway on your right-hand side. Union is right next door to Area, opposite the MI6 building. Some events use the rear entrance on Goding Street (on the other side of the railway arches) which you can get to by following the main road under the bridge and then turning left by the Vauxhall Tavern.
