Based in the very heart of Camden Town, ‘Vinyl’ was the first DJ bar of its kind and remains the only combined bar, cafe and record store concept in the world.
Popular with the trainer-wearing Camden in-crowd, regulars can take seats in the funky, just refurbished, interior or at street-side tables and watch the crowds go by. Bar staff mix some great cocktails but there is also a selection of fruit juices for those nursing hangovers. Their reputation for food is also excellent.
To get the best value for your money, make your way down Vinyl during the Happy Hour (5pm-7pm everyday) when you can enjoy 2for1 on a selected drinks and food.
The space has a cult following as much for its drinks as for the basement record shop, Vinyl Rulz, born out of the ashes of Vinyl Addiction which ceased trading in June 2005, specialising in minimal, electronic house and breakbeat.
By night it is a very popular destination for late twenty-somethings with music supplied by some of London’s finest labels and DJ’s.
What makes Bar Vinyl so special is the intimate vibe you get from the staff, you can’t help but feel you are somewhere special. Their reputation for food is also excellent. Luminaries such as Neneh Cherry, Zoe Ball, Boy George Norman Cook, David Morales, Howie B and Marc Almond have all graced the portals of the bar.
